Gerdau is currently seeking Operators for its Midlothian TX facility.

Responsibilities:
These entry level positions will include working with other team members but have individual responsibilities to assist with the various tasks associated with the steel making process. Included among the tasks are some or all of the following duties associated with plant equipment: forklift operation, crane operation, machine operation, inspections, welding, loading/unloading, cleaning/general housekeeping, operating various hand tools and equipment, using basic computer skills to operate a touch screen and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:
High School Diploma/GED
Must pass WorkKeys Assessment
Ability to work a 12 hour rotating shift schedule, which includes days, nights and weekends and overtime on short notice.
Experience which includes any of the following: forklift experience, previous machine operating/production experience, heavy equipment experience and/or crane operation experience is preferred.
Must be comfortable working inside and outside (some openings are 100% outside) in a heavy industrial and physically demanding environment. This includes working in extreme temperatures and potentially dusty and/or wet climate.
Ability to lift 40 lbs. or more for a period of time.
Must have demonstrated commitment to safety in previous work experiences.
Must have excellent attendance and professional work records.
Ability to communicate in English with fellow employees (some positions require understanding technical work instructions or job aids)
Experience with a computer preferred
Must be able to pass a pre-employment process including employment and education verification, physical, drug test and criminal background check.
