Maintenance Technician
Location: Midlothian, TX
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Position: Hourly 31.21/hour
Maintenance Technicians are responsible for maintaining the plant equipment and buildings at the Plant. Responsible for ensuring all related SOP's and plant rules pertaining to GMP, safety, operating procedures, and personal conduct are followed. Help maintain an effective Food Safety and Quality System and support its ongoing improvement.
Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, and painting repairs as necessary.
Develop, perform and conduct routine PM's on Plant equipment. Pumps, Motors, Tanks, Agitators, Dryers, Blowers
Troubleshoot Process upsets and assist operations in determining the problems.
Take active part in system upgrades for new and obsolete equipment.
Able to rebuild basic centrifugal and PD pumps, valves
Able to install and dismantle metal and plastic piping systems.
Assist in the training of maintenance personnel if necessary.
Watch for any irregularities in the equipment operation, correct where possible and advise supervisor of defects needing attention.
Ensure that production and housekeeping in assigned areas meet Good Manufacturing Practice Standards.
Follow all applicable safety requirements.
Comply with the requirements of the Midlothian Quality System and Management of Change (MOC) system.
Complete other job responsibilities as assigned and all jobs in a timely manner.
Able to understand and interpret P&IDs and equipment drawings.
Environmental, Health & Safety Responsibilities
Must follow all plant safety and environmental policies and procedures as well as Responsible Care policy and standards where employee should:
Become familiar with Chemtrade Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) policies and procedures.
Immediately report all ES&H incidents (injuries, near misses, releases).
Complete all required ES&H training in a timely fashion.
Follow all Chemtrade facility and corporate ES&H procedures and practices.
Attend and actively participate in facility ES&H meetings and forums that will drive employee involvement.
Provide feedback and suggestions for ES&H program improvement.
Participate in job safety analysis activities.
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Three plus years industrial maintenance experience required.
Preferred Position Qualifications:
Food, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Petrochemical, Refinery, Mining, paper and Pulp Industry Preferred.
Process welding certification preferred.

Must be able to lift 50 pound bag
Must be able to work with basic electrical safety gears.
Must be able to repeatedly use hand tools such as wrenches, screw drivers, hammers and etc.
Must be able to work in awkward positions such as pipe racks, small vessels and etc.
Must be able to work outdoors during inclement winter and summer in Texas weather.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
